Shaka Hislop has suggested that Zack Steffen saw his career nosedive due to his decision to sign for Manchester City in the first place.

On ESPN FC, the pundit was quizzed about which player in world football he would like to mentor and he named the Manchester City loanee.

"I thought, one of the most talented goalkeepers that the US has ever produced", Hislop told ESPN FC.

"And I thought the City move and everything that happened as a result took away from what could've been an outstanding career."
