'A move could happen' - Transfer expert David Ornstein provides update on Man Utd's pursuit of Olise

Transfer market guru David Ornstein, has provided an interesting update on Manchester United's pursuit of former Super Eagles invitee, Michael Olise.

The Premier League giants have been heavily linked with the Crystal Palace forward, particularly as a replacement for Brazil international, Antony.

He has 15 goal involvements in the League which is more than all Manchester United's forwards and it is not surprising that Jim Ratcliffe wants to bring him to Old Trafford.

However, following a report Olise's agent, Glen Tweneboah, has been banned by the English FA, there has been a presumption that this could affect a move for the 22-year-old in the summer.

Ornstein has clarified the situation on this and has given clarity on whether the France youth international is ready to leave Crystal Palace while confirming Manchester United's interest in him.

Speaking on his Q&A segment with the Athletic but with quotes relayed by CaughtOffside, he said:

"There's plenty of interest in Olise - from Manchester United, for example - and therefore it is possible a move could happen.

"The ban his agent has been handed starts in October, so that will not be a prohibiting factor. But there have been no concrete talks or developments between suitors and Crystal Palace so far and it is not guaranteed he will go, as we saw last summer with Chelsea.

"Olise is said to be the type of person to think these decisions through very carefully and will not depart unless it is right for both him and Palace.

"It has been well documented there is a release clause, which it is believed could facilitate his exit for a fee in the region of PS60m, however from everything we hear it is a complicated mechanism and not as straight forward as: pay the fee and get him."

Similarly, Fabrizio Romano had also confirmed the Red Devils' interest in the Anglo-French-Nigerian-Angolan winger and that the club are aware about his release clause and conditions upon which they can make a deal happen.

Manchester United aren't the only Premier League side interested in the services of the talented forward, as Chelsea have reportedly reignited their interest in him and are ready to offer the Eagles a swap deal instead of paying his release clause.
