Erik ten Hag hails Man Utd fans for sticking with them 'in good times and bad'

Manchester United will be hoping to end the season on a high this weekend by winning the FA Cup.

Erik ten Hag's men beat Brighton 2-0 in their final Premier League match on Sunday thanks to goals from Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Hojlund. However, they ultimately finished a disappointing eighth.

And Ten Hag now has one final opportunity to show new United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe that he deserves to still be in charge next season when the Red Devils take on local rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final. Here is all the latest news from Old Trafford.

Casemiro was left out of the initial 23-man squad earlier this month following a disappointing campaign and there is still no space for him in the squad after teams were allowed to call up an additional three players.

Juventus defender Bremer, Atalanta midfielder Ederson and Porto winger Pepe have all been added to the squad, while Sao Paulo goalkeeper Rafael has been called up as an injury replacement for Manchester City star Ederson.

"When it's people who were sitting where I'm sitting, who won everything, sometimes it's bizarre," Onana told Gary Neville on The Overlap. "We're in the same boat. We try to follow your thing and what you did.

"For me, I don't mind, but other people may be affected. For me, to be honest, it's just a part of the game. We're just facing bad situations, a bad season. Sometimes you have own goals, you have deflections - there are things you cannot control in life."

The Overlap) Another unwanted record United's eighth-placed finish this season is their worst in Premier League history and one fan has noticed another unwanted record Ten Hag's men have set.

In a post on social media, the fan pointed out that the Red Devils failed to end the campaign as the best 'United' in English football for the first time in the Premier League era. That is because Newcastle United finished one place above them on goal difference.

As a result, Newcastle will also be plying their trade in Europe next season after qualifying for the Europa Conference League while Ten Hag's side have missed out on European football for the first time in 20 years.
