Manchester United star Jadon Sancho has been left in limbo on Transfer Deadline Day.

The Red Devils have less than 24 hours to complete their summer business, with Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt all signing earlier in the window. While Manuel Ugarte looks set to be the fifth incoming of the window, with his arrival from PSG set for Friday.

However, United's Deadline Day looks set to revolve around Sancho, who wants out of Old Trafford. According to the Manchester Evening News, exploratory discussions over a potential swap between Sancho and Raheem Sterling have been held.

However, Sancho has also been looked at by Juventus - and the Italian team had been keen to bring the England international to Turin, with various reports insisting that they had agreed personal terms.

However, Tutto Mercato Web has reported that the Italian giants have turned their attention to Bayer Leverkusen's Amine Adli. Should Juventus make a move for the 24-year-old, it would end their pursuit of Sancho.

Sterling could hold the keys to Sancho's exit, with United mulling over an 11th hour swoop for the Chelsea star. According to Manchester Evening News, well-placed sources say the talks have not advanced any further, and a separate source believes a deal 'feels unlikely'.

Sancho now faces an uncertain 24 hours, with the Englishman in limbo about his footballing future.

"He could play but if we had the choices, we preferred to put other players on the bench but that will change in the season as we have to rotate, because we can't play so many games the same. You see how important the subs are and you see it is about balance.

"Sometimes it is frustrating about the team, the club and there will be more players in this position. We expect them to fight for the club, as we have so many games to play for the club. Everyone will get their minutes and then they have to prove it."
