Manchester United fans have been informed that, due to cost reviews and staffing cuts, they will no longer send a group of club employees to conduct ticket collections on Euro away trips.

The news comes with deep disappointment and anger from Dibs Jandu, who represents season ticket holders at Fan Forums.

In an update written on X this evening, Dips carefully stated the fears fans have about this news and how it will impact future trips across Europe.

"We are deeply disappointed and angry as this decision undermines not only a ticketing system which was universally recognised as fair but also the huge time and effort fans put into travelling worldwide. We suggest alternatives, like a number of collections or partial collections, but the club insists they won't allocate resources to what they deem a 'non-critical' activity. For now, there will be no collections. We've made it clear that supporter services are vital and pushed for a budget review."

United are competing in the Europa League after drawing their first two matches against FC Twente and Porto.

A disastrous 2023/24 Champions League campaign saw United crash out of the competition in the group stages, and we failed to qualify after finishing eighth in the Premier League. I travelled to Munich for the 4-3 defeat at the Allianz Arena; not thinking our season in Europe would be anywhere near as bad as it was. It's a showdown that sees Erik ten Hag face one of his predecessors in Jose Mourinho, a manager with an eye for an upset in European competition.

However, the upset caused by the latest INEOS decision is set to cause havoc for the ticketing department and may suggest they will eventually bin the European credit system and loyalty pot.

It essentially opens the door to the black market of the ticketing world, by ruining a fair system that already allows a pathway for fans to get on the ladder. Not only did this take years to achieve, it has been ripped up by INEOS immediately and tells us how much they're willing to prioritise match-going fans.

In a counter-productive way to cut costs, INEOS have cut a corner short that will need amending in the future.

I'd like to think the Fans' Forum will attempt to fight back on this issue. That's why they are in this position to raise pressing issues that impact fans at the club.
