A possible spanner has been thrown in Newcastle United's works to revamp their goalkeeping department.

The Magpies are overseeing a complete overhaul of their keepers this summer, with so far one exit and two arrivals already completed.

Greece international No.1 Odysseas Vlachodimos has already arrived in a PSR-enabling deal with Nottingham Forest - the sum of which is yet to be disclosed, although estimates on the continent had the fee as high as PS12million - and free transfer John Ruddy has also been signed, as a direct replacement for Loris Karius, who departed at the end of his contract.

Newcastle already have Nick Pope and Mark Gillespie on their books, so having carried four keepers last season, it seems unlikely they'd go with five this time around. All fingers, as expected, point towards a Martin Dubravka exit.

However, reports north of the border now suggest Rodgers has turned his attentions elsewhere.

According to the Daily Record, Celtic have Sparta Prague No. 1 Peter Vindahl Jensen at the top of their wanted list - and are prepared to pay up to PS8million to secure his services.

Dubravka is thought to be valued in the range of PS3million by Newcastle.

Speaking about his future to the Daily Mail, Dubravka said: "I have no idea. I have seen they are talking with other goalkeepers. I need to speak with the manager first. What is the plan for me? What is my future? I don't know if they want me to stay or not. It is difficult for me, because I have been focussed on my job with the national team."
