Aston Villa Made A Late Enquiry For This Nottingham Forest Midfielder: Should Emery Move In For Him?

In a recent report, The Daily Mail stated that Aston Villa have made a late enquiry for Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. It is understood that the Villans were showing interest in the English attacker earlier this summer.

Gibbs-White's Impressive Numbers At Nottingham Last Season Gibbs-White had a fruitful campaign at the Midlands club recently as he was responsible for putting in a series of impressive performances for them in the final third. The English talent netted six goals and grabbed ten assists in 42 matches for Nottingham last season in multiple competitions.

The 24-year-old gave a good account of himself in the opponent's half and did well to average 1.9 shots, 2.0 key passes and 1.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 76.9% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the City Ground will expire in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for the Villans to recruit him on the cheap this January or at the end of this campaign.

The English sensation deserves credit for adding a handful of goals and assists to his game last season. He has already got some Premier League experience under his belt and won't take much time to settle into life at Aston Villa if Unai Emery can find a way to bring him on board next year.

Gibbs-White would no doubt enhance the quality of Unai Emery's match-day squad. He is more than capable of securing a regular first-team spot at Villa Park in the coming years.

At 24, Gibbs-White has got his best years ahead of him which makes him a decent fit for the West Midlands club's needs in the long run. With all things considered, the Villans should focus on moving in for the Nottingham Forest star when the transfer window commences at the start of January.
